B Tech Admission Process with Basic Eligibility Criteria

Step 1 - Engineering Entrance Examinations:
  • Apply for engineering entrance exams such as JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) on their respective websites or online portals.
  • Students can also apply for state-level examinations like MHT CET, WBJEE, OJEE, KCET, etc.
  • Some autonomous colleges conduct their entrance exams like MET and Jamia.
Step 2 - Release of Results:
  • After the results of JEE and other entrance exams are announced, aspirants aiming for IITs and NITs need to participate in JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) for seat allocation.
  • Candidates seeking admission to other colleges will proceed with counselling rounds after the release of results.
Step 3 - Counselling:
  • During counselling, colleges and courses are allotted to students based on merit lists, marks obtained in the entrance exams, and the candidate's category.
Step 4 - Admission Offer:

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Courses
  • Academic Qualification: Completion of 10+2 or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) stream from a recognized educational board such as CBSE, ICSE, etc.
  • Minimum Marks Requirement: Candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics combined.
  • Relaxation for SC/ST Candidates: SC/ST candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate and qualifying marks, i.e., they need to secure a minimum of 55% marks in PCM.
  • Entrance Examination Score: Candidates who have appeared for JEE Main or any other equivalent entrance examination must submit their scorecard during the admission process. The scores of such exams are mandatory for consideration.
  • Lateral Entry for Diploma Holders: Candidates who have completed a 3-year diploma program in engineering are eligible for lateral entry into the B.Tech program. They can directly enrol into the second year of the B.Tech course.

BTech Lateral Entry Courses

BTech Lateral Entry offers an opportunity for individuals possessing a 3-year Diploma or BSc degree in a related technical field. Admission is granted for the 3rd semester (i.e., the second year) of the BTech program. B.Tech Cutoff Details for Admissions

The cutoff scores for JEE Main are disclosed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) concurrently with the release of results from the previous session.
