The West Bengal State Government administers the JEPBN Exam, also known as the West Bengal Joint Entrance for Post Basic Nursing Course.   • The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) administers the state-level entrance test known as the WB JEPBN & (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Post-Basic Nursing).
  • The test is held to determine eligibility for enrollment in the 2-year Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing program that is provided by numerous colleges and institutes throughout the state of West Bengal.

Eligibility Guidelines for JEPBN

The following requirements must be met in order for candidates to be eligible to sit for the JEPBN exam:

  • The requirements for candidates are that they are Indian nationals and that they have completed an intermediate and higher secondary school program with a basic curriculum of English, chemistry, & biology.
  • Candidates must have graduated from an institution accredited by the Indian Nursing Council or the State Nursing Council with a GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or B. Sc. in nursing degree.
  • As of the deadline for applications, the maximum age to work for the West Bengal State Government is 53 years old. Candidates who work for the ESI or the Central Government are not restricted by an upper age limit.
  • By the deadline for applications, candidates who are currently employed by the West Bengal State Government must have at least three years of qualifying, unbroken, and regularised experience in government service.
  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Those who perform well on the JEPBN exam will be chosen to enroll in the nursing program. A merit list based on the student's grades is published as part of the selection process, and eligibility is determined after additional document verification. All requirements outlined by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board Committee (WBJEEM) must be met in order for a candidate to be successful. JEPBN Cutoff List

JEPBN 2025 cutoff ranks & scores will be determined and made public by the exam authorities at the time of the results. The JEPBN cutoff will be used to establish the candidates' qualification status. The number of test-takers, the number of seats, and the exam's level of difficulty, to name a few, will all affect the cutoff for JEPBN. 

JEPBN Counselling

JEPBN 2025 counseling method will be held by WBJEEB, and qualified candidates will be required to attend. Candidates would need to have their documentation validated by the institutes during the counseling stages. Among the documents are the admit card, category certificate (if applicable), scorecard, employment certificate, former academic mark sheets and certifications, and others.

JEPBN Solution Paper

The exam administrators issued the JEPBN 2025 answer keys on May 20, 2025. Candidates have the option to compute and check their estimated scores. They can lodge objections by paying a charge of INR 500 per question if they discover any discrepancies. Final and frozen answer keys will be reviewed by the Board before being released. May 23, 2025, is the last day to submit objections. The official website published the last answer key on June 27, 2025.

JEPBN Exam Pattern

According to the JEPBN exam schedule, the 90-minute offline exam will happen between 11 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. There are 100 questions in all. There will be four possible answers for each of the MCQ-style questions. Candidates must choose the right response by using an HB pencil to shade the circle adjacent to it. Marking Scheme:
  • Each appropriate response will receive one mark.
  • Each erroneous response will result in a 0.25-point (1/4 point) reduction.
  • Even if one of the marked answers is the right one, marking more than one option will result in a negative marking because it will be viewed as a wrong answer.
  • No points will be taken off for failing to attempt a question.
