Recent developments:

For the allocation of more than 100,000 MBBS seats, more than 20,000 BDS seats, more than 52,000 BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/BSMS seats, and roughly 480 B.Sc. nursing seats, NEET 2023 counselling is being held. The qualifying percentile for the NEET 2023 exam is specified at 50 for GN/EWS, 45 for GN-PwD, and 40 for OBC/ST/SC/PwD. On June 13, 2023, NEET pass scores were made public along with the results. To conduct NEET counselling 2023, the NTA creates a NEET 2023 Merit List and shares it with the MCC. This list includes 15% All India Quota Seats, 100% seats in deemed and central institutions, and seats at AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, and AFMS. The different state DME authorities compile a NEET merit list for 85% of the state quota seats and 100% of the seats in private colleges. In total, 20,38,596 people took the NEET UG exam this year, which was given in 13 languages, including Hindi and English. 20,87,462 students registered for it. NEET Full Form 

National Eligibility Com Entrance Test is known by the full name NEET. The only national UG medical entrance test in India is called NEET. Since 2019, the NTA has conducted NEET on paper each year. The National Eligibility Cumulation Entrance Test, or NEET in its full form, was conducted by CBSE prior to 2019.

NEET Cut off 

The NEET Cut Off is the minimal score required for applicants to be admitted to the MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH programs offered by Indian medical colleges through the NEET. The NEET 2023 cutoff will presumably be made public in June 2023. NTA will announce the cut-off along with the outcome.

NEET Exam Pattern 

The NEET 2023 Exam Pattern states that there will be 200 questions on the test, and candidates must attempt 180 of them. Candidates should review the exam format to acquire a sense of the NEET exam and prepare accordingly.

  • The NEET 2023 exam will be administered in 13 different languages, including Hindi, English, and 11 different regional tongues: Odia, Assamese, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Urdu.
  • Exam format: The NEET 2023 exam will be administered offline, using pen and paper, in more than 500 test cities across India. similar to the previous year. The NEET 2023 exam is anticipated to take place in 14 foreign cities.
  • There will be 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on the NEET 2023 exam question paper, although only 180 of them must be answered.
  • NEET 2023 will consist of 4 sections, with biology being separated into botany and zoology. There are 50 questions total for each subject—35 from Section A and 15 from Section B. The applicants are required to attempt 10 of the 15 questions in Section B.
  • In the NEET 2023 exam, each question is worth four points. There is negative marking, meaning that one mark is subtracted for each incorrect response. However, there is no penalty for failing to attempt a question.
  • Total Marks: There will be 720 total marks awarded for the paper.
  • Exam Time: The NEET 2023 exam will last 3 hours, 20 minutes (200 minutes). Remember that the NEET exam has no sectional time limit.

Marking Scheme Of NEET

According to the NEET 2023 scoring policy, applicants receive 4 points for each answer that is accurate and lose 1 point for each answer that is incorrect. For questions that are not answered, neither points nor points are taken away.

Languages of NEET Exam 

NTA will conduct NEET 2023 offline in 13 languages. Any exam city in India is available to candidates who choose to take the exam in English, Hindi, or Urdu. The exam centre will only be made available in the state where the individual decides to sit the NEET in one of the 10 regional languages.

NEET Eligibility  

NEET 2023 eligibility age, qualifying marks, and nationality must be fulfilled by the candidates to register for the exam. Before applying for the NEET exam, candidates must check the detailed eligibility criteria below: 

NEET Age Limit  

As per NEET 2023 Age Limit, candidates must have completed 17 years of age before December 31, 2023. There is no upper limit on NEET eligibility age. 

NEET Eligibility Marks in 12th  

  • Class 10+2 in PCB and English from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks for the general category/ EWS candidates. 
  • Reserved category candidates can apply for the exam with 40% marks in PCB.  
  • Candidates are eligible even if they have opted for biology as an optional subject. 

NEET Attempts 

There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can appear for NEET. Candidates who are 17 years and above can take any number of NEET Attempts provided they fulfill other eligibility criteria. 

NEET Eligibility: Nationality 

  • Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for the exam. 
  • NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals are also eligible to appear for the exam.

NEET 2023 Reservation criteria provide for reservation of seats in the central universities and state medical/ dental colleges for EWS, SC, ST, and OBC candidates.
