SAT Exam Eligibility

The College Board does not have precise guidelines for SAT qualifying. It is necessary for candidates to pass the qualifying exam. Those who wish to take the SAT must adhere to the following minimal requirements:

Age Limit

There is no upper or lower age restriction for applying to the College SAT. After completing high school, students can apply for the SAT. Studies have indicated that individuals between the ages of 17 and 19 are among the most likely to take the SAT.

The SAT College Board has not imposed any limits on the number of times candidates may take the exam. In India, there are five available SAT exam dates per year, often in the months of March, August, May, October, and December.

SAT Exam Syllabus

The SAT is a significant factor in determining a candidate's academic standing. The two most popular SAT tests are the SAT Subject Test and the SAT General Test.

  • Students typically take the SAT General Test in order to be admitted to undergraduate universities. It evaluates the candidates' written, verbal, and mathematical abilities.
  • There are five additional subject divisions within the twenty SAT subject examinations. These SAT subjects are broken down into more manageable categories. Among the several SAT subjects are:
    1. SAT Mathematics
    2. SAT Science
    3. SAT Literature
    4. SAT History and
    5. SAT Languages

SAT Score

The SAT exam is evaluated on a 200–800 point range for each section. The total score on the SAT is the sum of the scores in each part. 1600 or 800+800 is the maximum SAT score that may be obtained. An additional score is awarded if the essay test is taken. Three criteria determine a SAT essay score: writing, reading, and analysis on a scale of two to eight. The SAT Score Calculator uses a set of principles to transform the raw SAT score into a scaled value. A 1000 is the average SAT score.

The raw SAT score for each part is determined by the total number of right answers.

  • Each question carries 1 mark
  • No negative marking
