Commonly referred to as WB JECA, the West Bengal Joint Examination for Masters in Computer Applications. It is a typical entrance exam for MCA programs offered by universities in West Bengal. Every year, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the WB JECA.

WB JECA Eligibility 

Before submitting an application for the exam, applicants must confirm that they meet the WB JECA 2025 Eligibility. Each institute has a separate set of requirements. The following lists the numerous standards that various institutions accept: 

Common Eligibility Criteria for WB JECA: 

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India. 
  • There is no upper age limit for taking the exam. 
  • A candidate may show up for the exam an unlimited number of times. 

WB JECA: Criteria 1 

  • The applicant must possess a Bachelor's degree (UGC/AICTE recognized) with a minimum of three years of study, with the exception of a BBA in Mathematics at the graduate or 10+2 level. 
  • For candidates in the general category, the cutoff score is 50%, while it is 45% for those in the reserved category. 

WB JECA: Criteria 2

  • a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with UGC recognition and an overall average of 60% for the general category and 45% for the SC/ST category, or a BCA with AICTE recognition and an overall average of 60% for the general and 45% for the SC/ST category. 
  • In addition, candidates need to receive an overall grade of 60% in mathematics at the 10+2 level and 45% for SC/ST candidates. 

WB JECA: Criteria 3

  • Any graduate degree recognized by the UGC or an AICTE-accredited B.E., B.Tech, or B.CA degree. 
  • Additionally, candidates must have a cumulative math score of 60% (45% for SC/ST/OBC) at each level. 

WB JECA: Criteria 4

  • Any B.Sc. degree with a 60% overall average (45% for reserved categories) and a 55% overall average in mathematics is recognized by the UGC. 
  • Additionally, candidates must earn 60% in mathematics at each level (grades 10, 10, and 10+2).

WB JECA Merit List 

The WB JECA 2025 merit list is anticipated to be published under the General Merit Rank (GMR) name and format, with a separate reserved category. The rankings on this list are shown in descending order by the candidate's grade. It should be noted that admission, seat allocation, and guidance will all be based only on this GMR and not the category list provided by WB JECA. 

WB JECA Counselling

  • Qualified candidates must present for the JECA 2025 Counseling when the merit list is announced. 
  • On the official website, a notice detailing admission, seat allocation, and counseling will be posted. 
  • Applicants must show up for the counseling session in the order of their rank and merit. 
  • If the applicant doesn't show up, the following qualified applicant will be given their spot. 
  • No representatives on behalf of candidates will be accepted; they must attend in person. 
  • Additionally, applicants should bring the required paperwork for validation.
  • After reviewing their certificates, candidates will be given seats depending on their merit and college preference.

Ques. When will WB JECA 2025 be held ?

WB JECA 2025 is scheduled to be held on May 15, 2025. However, all the dates are tentative in nature and might change under extraordinary circustances.

Ques. Has there been any changes in WB JECA 2025 Exam Pattern ?

Yes. WBJEEB has changed WB JECA 2025 Exam Pattern. As per the revised exam pattern, WB JECA will now be conducted as a single paper instead of two.

  • The paper will now be based solely on basic computer applications.
  • The syllabus will be based on UG Computer Application and equivalent courses followed at universities in India.
  • The exam will now be conducted for a 2-hour duration.
  • There will be 100 questions carrying a total 120 marks.

Ques. When can I make corrections in my WB JECA 2025 application form ?

Candidates will be able to make online corrections in WB JECA 2025 application form when correction window opens from February 3, 2025 to February 4, 2025.

Ques. Will there be negative marking in WB JECA 2025?

There is negative marking in WB JECA 2025 in case of wrong attempts i.e. a candidate will get +1 for the correct answer 0.25 will be deducted for an incorrect answer.
