The name Bimal Chandra College of Law honours the late Bimal Chandra Sinha, the founder. The college is accredited by the Indian Bar Council and associated with Kalyani University. It was running at Raja Birendra Chandra College at first, but in 2006 it was moved to its present location. Admission to Bimal Chandra College of Law

  1. The timely collection and submission of an admission form that has been properly filled out is required.
  2. Direct admission is available to all students in the general category who get 45% overall in their Higher Secondary or equivalent test, as well as to students from the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe categories who achieve 40% overall.
  3. Admission begins following the West Bengal Board of Higher Secondary Education or Equivalent Examination's result announcement, which typically occurs in June. Admission forms, the college's prospectus, and the fees book are available from the office of the college in exchange for a cash payment of only Rs. 300.
  4. The final date for issuing and submitting admission forms will be separately announced on the college notice board.
  5. Once being paid in full by the students, the fees and dues are not refundable under any situation.
  6. The college notice board will post the merit list of the chosen candidates who have been admitted to the first year.
  7. Students who are transferring from other boards are conditionally admitted pending the production of the necessary paperwork, as announced on the college's notice board.
  8. Entrance to the first semester of the five-year B.A.LL.B. (Hons) programme opens following the release of the West Bengal Higher Secondary Examination results and ends on the date set by Kalyani University each year.
  9. Admission to classes from year to year is required by the specified dates.
  10. After admission, during the programme's five-year duration, the annual course fees may change.

Required Documents

  • Mark sheet of the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination. Candidates who have appeared at the above examination and who are awaiting their results by June/July can submit their Application Form.
  • Proof of Age – Birth Certificate or Admit Card/School Certificate mentioning the date of Birth.
  • SC/ST Certificate – In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
  • Recent Passport size colour photographs – One pasted on the Application Form and two extra copies along with the Application Form.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Passed the High Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent exam with a minimum cumulative score of 40% for SC/ST students and 45% for general students.
  • As of the first day of July, had reached the age of 20. Candidates who fall under the SC/ST category are eligible for a 2-year age relaxation.
