Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) holds the distinction of being the first pharmacy university in India and the third globally. It was founded in 1964 at Polytechnic with D Pharma. It was established as a College of Pharmacy later in 1972. In 2094, it changed its name to Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR), which was then transformed into DPSRU. The Indian government of Delhi is in charge of DPSRU. The Honorable Lieutenant Governor serves as chancellor, and the General Council mentors the administration. The goal of DPSRU is to build cutting-edge facilities for pharmaceutical research and teaching.
At present, DPSRU has signed over 35 Memorandums of Understanding with Pharma Industry and National Government Institutions. Admission to the Master of Pharmacy program at DPSRU is based on the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) scores, and the cut-off scores vary for different categories.
One State University run by the Delhi government is called DPSRU. Scholarships from GNCTD are awarded to DPSRU students. It is done via the e-district portal, the National Scholarships Portal run by the Central Government, the AICTE, and other government funding agencies like NFST, CSIR, DST-INSPIRE, DBT, DST, and UGC. The placement report for the year 2023 has not been provided by DPSRU University, and there is no information available about it. The goal of the DPSRU placement cell is to place students as well as possible. A wide range of prestigious companies hired DPSRU students for positions in research and development, clinical development, production, quality assurance, hospital and community pharmacy, sales, and marketing. For M Pharm, an expected pay offer is between 8.5 and 5.0 lac, whereas for B Pharm, it is between 3.5 and 6.2 lac.
