DPSRU New Delhi: Course, fees, Admission Process and Rankings

Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) holds the distinction of being the first pharmacy university in India and the third globally. It was founded in 1964 at Polytechnic with D Pharma. It was established as a College of Pharmacy later in 1972. In 2094, it changed its name to Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR), which was then transformed into DPSRU. The Indian government of Delhi is in charge of DPSRU. The Honorable Lieutenant Governor serves as chancellor, and the General Council mentors the administration. The goal of DPSRU is to build cutting-edge facilities for pharmaceutical research and teaching.  

At present, DPSRU has signed over 35 Memorandums of Understanding with Pharma Industry and National Government Institutions. According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for the year 2023, DPSRU has achieved a ranking of 25 in the state of Delhi with a score of 57.64. Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University Admission 

The DPSRU admissions process is entirely online. Candidates are able to apply to more than one course, depending on their preferences and qualifications. Admissions are determined solely by the cumulative grade a candidate receives in the topic they wish to study. The selection criteria for the many courses that DPSRU offers are listed below. 

• In order to be eligible to apply for degree programs offered by DPSRU, candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2023. 
• The final selection process for the MBA programs in pharmaceutical management (MBA-PM), international trade management (MBA-ITM), and healthcare and hospital management (MBA-HHM) is determined by factors including graduation marks (60%) and group discussions (20%). 
• The admission process for lateral entry into undergraduate courses will be based on the grades earned in the first and second years of D Pharma. 
• In order to be considered for admission to any of the following bachelor's degree programs, including B Pharm, D Pharma, B Pharm (Ayu), BBA in Healthcare, BMLT, or DMLT, candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics on their mark sheet.

• Candidates can use https://dpsru.edu.in/admissions/ to download the application. 
• For each course they wish to apply for, prospective candidates must pay INR 1000 using Net Banking, a debit card, a credit card, etc. 
• When the application is submitted, an acknowledgment form will be generated as a record of the payment that the institute has received. 
• The certificate must be uploaded with scanned copies of the marksheet, date of birth certificate, category certificate (if applicable), and GPAT certificate (if applicable). Should this not be the case, the application will be deemed incomplete.

DPSRU Scholarships 

One State University run by the Delhi government is called DPSRU. Scholarships from GNCTD are awarded to DPSRU students. It is done via the e-district portal, the National Scholarships Portal run by the Central Government, the AICTE, and other government funding agencies like NFST, CSIR, DST-INSPIRE, DBT, DST, and UGC. Additionally, DPSRU supports students applying to non-government scholarships such those offered by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. 

Scholarship Application Process  

• Students who meet the eligibility requirements for the scholarship must apply online in accordance with the guidelines and timetable listed in the advertising. 
• Students must turn in their request letter, a copy of their application, and all required supporting documentation, including bank account information, to the scholarship coordinator at DPSRU or DIPSAR. 
• Subsequent applications will be checked via an e-portal for the funding agency by DPSRU/DIPSAR.  
• Students will be notified to correct any inconsistencies in the application and submit it again if they are discovered. 
• The students will receive funding via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

DPSRU Placements 

The placement report for the year 2023 has not been provided by DPSRU University, and there is no information available about it. The goal of the DPSRU placement cell is to place students as well as possible. A wide range of prestigious companies hired DPSRU students for positions in research and development, clinical development, production, quality assurance, hospital and community pharmacy, sales, and marketing. For M Pharm, an expected pay offer is between 8.5 and 5.0 lac, whereas for B Pharm, it is between 3.5 and 6.2 lac.
