Admission to the B.Tech program is determined by the JEE Advanced rank, and the subsequent process involves JoSAA counselling, scheduled post the JEE exam. Candidates with valid JEE Advanced scores need to register online for JoSAA counselling, participating in the seat allotment process, which comprises six rounds. Seat allocation considers factors such as JEE Advanced rank, seat availability, and category.

At the postgraduate level, IIT Madras campus offers admissions to M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, MA, MS, and Ph.D. programs.
