The Indian state of Maharashtra is home to the Sir J. J. College of Architecture, a college of architecture. With a history dating back to 1857, this college is among the most renowned and storied in all of India. According to Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy's deeds, the Maharashtra government rents the college campus (Sir J. J.). The college is made up of two buildings that house the departments as well as a smaller building that houses the workshop. In 1913, the college underwent a reorganization and establishment to better accommodate its architectural program. The University of Mumbai is connected to the Sir JJ College of Architecture in Mumbai.India Today ranks Sir JJ College of Architecture in the fourth place for fine arts.
